I've got to be honest, it was sadder for me when Nami disappeared, there was just this great need in his eyes to save her, although, that can be said for the others as well, it was just deeper to me, than Robin's.Also, I think what oloo is trying to say is that it wouldn't help the storyline if all of them were to be saved, if Luffy himself didn't dissapear than he wouldn't be able to have a chance to save Ace. And for the other islands to be seen instead of a few of them.
